How Panama belonged to the U.S.?
I know that the United States bought the land and across the channel for several hundred years and was allowed to say that was part of the United States. But what% of Panama was this land? And now everyone is rightly back in the control of Panama or U.S. still have land?
I served in the U.S. Army in Panama May81 – May83. I think there was a gap of 10 miles either side of the canal called "The Canal Zone." Many U.S. citizens have lived there for decades, until Jimmy Carter foolishly signed an agreement to do more. I spoke with a bunch of guys who are there and since they show that the Panamanians have never taken care of the earth after taking control. Land and buildings were in ruins!
